Where the heck is the mulch bag?

My husband Eric is such a sweetheart. He is such a sweetheart, that while my parents are out of town he decided he wanted to mow their lawn, clean out there gutters, and take out their trash for them.
So there he is, in our front yard in his work shorts and sneakers mowing their beautiful green lawn when all the sudden he realizes that the mulch bag needs to be emptied about halfway through. He looks all over in my parents garage for the big brown bags to empty all the grass into, but he could not find it for the life of him! So, Eric decides he will get on his bike and make a quick trip to Ace Hardware store to purchase a few. He then puts the mulch bag on the sidewalk, the lawn mower by the garage, and heads off to the store.
He gets back from the store with the brown bags in hand and finds out that the mulch bag is gone! There he stands, in the middle of the sidewalk with his hands out, wondering..."Where the heck is the mulch bag??" (Knowing Eric, the sight of that is pretty dang hilarious!) Then our sweet neighbor Mike Cook comes out and says, "Are you looking for the mulch bag??" Eric says yes, then Mike says, "Man! The garbage men took it! We saw them out our window debating if they should take it or not and by the time we got down to the front door to tell them not to, they were gone!"
Then, Eric takes off on his bike in attempt to save the mulch bag from the garbage men! Down the street, around the corner, they see him coming and say "Ah man we're in trouble!" haha. Eric says "Yeah ya are! Where's my mulch bag!?" Then they started arguing saying "Man! I told you we shouldn't have taken that!" haha. Wondering if it was redeemable, Eric asked to see if we could take a look to see if we could get it.

It was smashed under 2-3 layers of compacted trash already.

Eric was like "Man that wasn't even mine! That was my Father-in-law's!!!" Then the guy went "Well, he's probably already pissed off at you for not being a lawyer or a doctor!" Eric was like..."ummm, I just got accepted to medical school" and he was like..oh.. haha. I just thought that was funny coming from a garbage man...who obviously has that problem with his father-in-law! haha. The Garbage man then says "Hey, call this number and see if they will redeem you for the bag, we are really sorry about that!"
A moaping Eric heads back to the house, sad that he couldn't save the mulch bag. He calls the number and they said they wouldn't redeem us, even if it was an accident..because "We are trying to go above and beyond in our picking up trash abilities." ..Which is interesting bc they still never manage to get all the trash...
Just to let you all know, the grass was half mowed, the mulch bag was 15 feet away from the trash on the curb. It was obvious that somebody was in the process of mowing the lawn. AND people don't throw away mulch bags. They throw away the brown bags with the grass in it that USED to be in the mulch bags. Eric told the man on the phone to educate his garbage men more.

I think this story is hilarious!!! I just had to share it all with you! Only Eric! :)
